Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA) stated on Sunday that the value of microfinance soared 58.6 % year-on-year in 2017, registering EGP 7.12 billion versus EGP 4.49 billion a year earlier.
The number of beneficiaries surged to 2.26 million clients last year, compared to 1.8 million in 2016, EFSA’s chairman Mohammed Omran commented.
The commercial and services segments acquired market shares of 61.4% and 17.55%, respectively, of the microfinance activity, the EFSA’s data showed.
